Hi Guys, It’s been a while since we did a blog post so what better way to get back into it with a little run down of the Wexford Style Event 2016. Wexford Style was back for the fifth year running and the annual fashion extravaganza didn’t disappoint! Hosted by Fashion Stylist and TV Presenter Mariette Doran, the night was immediately off to a good start (the bubbly on arrival went down a treat).

The atmosphere was nothing short of buzzing. The edgy lighting and amazing flower displays designed by Slaney Flowers adorned the catwalk and resembled something of Paris fashion week! With 600 fashionistas seated, Irelands’ top models including the stunning Miss Ireland 2016 Niamh Kennedy, took the 50-metre long catwalk showcasing the amazing Autumn/Winter collections stocked by our very own boutiques here in county Wexford.

Modeling various looks from casual to occasion wear from boutiques such as from Ruby Rouge, Carrig Donn, Runaway Bride, Frock, Pamela Scott, Panache & Si Jolie just to name a few! And what is fashion without a piece of jewellery or statement necklace? Well Jewellery Designer of the Year Bláithín Ennis had that covered as she dazzled guests with her edgy creations.

Gainfort Academy staff and students spent most of the night backstage beautifying the models with the help of the incredible celebrity Make Up Artist Ken Boylan, who lead our creative team. Using his high end Make Up collection ‘Make Up Play’ our students created some gorgeous looks for the Autumn/Winter season. With award winning Hairdresser Alan Keville & his team looking after the lady models and Cutthroat Barber club taking care of the gent models, we can safely say a hair wasn’t out of place!

The entertainment on the night was second to none, Roisin Dempsey sang live for a number of scenes, leaving us with goosebumps and a tear in our eyes. We must admit though the children from Corish-Wallace Performing arts school stole the show!! They were incredible little entertainers, absoltute show stoppers that performed wearing the new season collection from the childrens’ boutique Babooshka.

In a nutshell it was a fantastic night filled with Style, Fashion & Glamour, everything was so well organised and articulated which is no surprise as creative director Keith Jordan worked his magic. Gainfort staff & students thoroughly enjoyed working as part of such an amazing set up and we were honoured to once again be part of the promotion of the excellent fashion, accessory, hair and beauty sector of County Wexford businesses.

It was undoubtedly one of the biggest events in the fashion calendar. The cherry on top of a wonderful night is that Wexford Style is an annual charity event and this year it was in association with Wexford Marine Watch, a cause that is an integral part of the Wexford community.

We are already excited for next year :D
